I'VE SEEN MORE SPINE ON A JELLYFISH I've seen more guts in an 11 year old kid. , ----------------------------- The unfamiliar feelings flooded the entire form of the petite girl as her head tilted backwards to give her eyes a chance to fully inspect the architecture of the house she stood before. Around her the summer of new Orleans was uncomfortably hot, the highest temperature she had had to deal with in New York was only half that of the heat that now battered her exposed skin. I'll never get used to this she thought and a sigh slipped from between her parted pink lips. Reaching up, she ran the hand that was not gripping the cardboard box of her belongings, through her tousled honey coloured hair. The closeness of the weather was what bothered her most, she felt like every inch of her tanned skin was covered in a thin sheen of moisture that no matter how furiously she srcubbed, would never leave.
The house itself was beautiful, even Alina with her disgregard for everything over the age of fifty, couldn't deny it. The high balcony that ran around the entire length of the property showed promise and she even mustered a small smile as her eyes met the sight of the small baskets hanging from the beams, already laden with full bloomed flowers thanks to their new maid. When the house had been trusted to the two young girls, their Great Aunt had insisted they had help, the two were barely twenty and surely couldn't be trusted to take care of themselves, after grudingly agreeing the twins had been introduced to Marie, their maid, gardener and all around handy woman. Charming.
Pulling her gaze away from the house that towered above her, so welcoming but at the same time, another reminder of the new life they were beginning to lead, she rearranged the box in her arms, listening to the small trinkets she had protected fiercely, jangle and chink together. Without a backwards glance at the busy New Orleans street she stepped towards the door, mounting the porch easily before she was greeted by the sound of Marie. Smiling politely in an an attempt to make the exchange as brief as she could, Alina nodded a few times at the small leathery skinned woman before she turned inside, leading the eldest of the twins inside and up the stairs towards their new home.
Inside the hall held a slightly musty smell, almost hidden by the smell of bleach and other cleaning supplies it niggled at her senses and caused her to wrinkle her nose in annoyance, just another thing she couldn't see herself getting used to. As she took the steps, one at a time and at her usual lazy pace, she kept her eyes down, tracing the small stains that appeared on each step until she was brought finally up into the open nd sunlight flooded her vision.

IT'S LIKE A ROLLING THUNDER meets a careless whisper - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Reaching in the backseat of the limo that had so easily brought the Lior twins to their new home, Livv turned and tucked the box under her arm with ease, sliding her sunglasses down from the top of her excellently blonde hair to shield her eyes from the bright rays of sun. Blowing a bubble from the pink, chewy substance that she'd been occupying herself with the entire ride there, Livv pondered the building; her mind whirring about what the building could hold for her and her elder by three minutes sister. As far as Livv knew, Aly was less than thrilled about picking up their belongings and moving themselves to New Orleans where the heat was undeniable, nearly unbearable, and the boys were irresistible. Unlike her sister, Livv thrived on the strange challenges their parents presented them whilst Aly find anything possible to make life luxurious and relatively simple as could be.
Stepping onto the cobblestones that ran to the immaculate lawn, the twenty year old wondered if they'd cleaned recently or if the ancient mansion had always been this dainty and cared for. It appeared to be older than she had originally heard from the lawyer, a legend whispering on the wind. Despite the hair raising on the back of her neck the closer her heels clicked to the front door, Livv shrugged it off. Rather than allow the strange premonitions that she felt herself affect their moving day, she was going to be the voice of reason. Perhaps the only reason that Aly was going to remain in New Orleans for more than a day. As she entered the building Livv's eyes fluttered every which way, attempting to gather a sense of her surroundings in seconds rather than minutes. The house was larger than anything they'd ever lived in ... and it was theirs to do with as they pleased. Setting the box on a nearby mahogany coffee table, hand carved it seemed, Livv slowly removed her sunglasses, her green eyes taking in the entire, elaborate scene. "Aly...Can you believe this place?" Livv questioned, not quite in awe but impressed nonetheless.
To impress a Lior girl takes extreme talent for their tastes are impeccable and their education prior to their move provided a very wide education. Allowing them to learn whatever their young hearts desired; they may be well brought up 'rich' girls, but they were more intelligent then most with an eye for value and talent. Never had either of them ever met someone with a gift that didn't end up with a promising, if not famed, future. Truthfully, Livv often wondered why she and her sister simply didn't start a business of bringing people to their fame. Pushing away the rather unnecessary and random thoughts of owning a business to put on display those who created their home, Livv began walking around slowly; blowing small bubble gum bubbles as she did so. It was immature and rather annoying, but upon noticing Aly's nose scrunching at a sort of smell, Livv was grateful the bubbly, pink flavor was filling her senses.
Marie, the new maid ... and everything else they'd ever need it seemed. In Livv's mind, she and Aly had been fully capable of running an entire floor penthouse on their own; with little to no help aside from plumbers and the like. So it was beyond her understanding why her parents had insisted in their will that the girl's keep Marie on as hired help. Apparently she'd been useful to them for quite some time before their tragic accident. "So how many rooms are there exactly?" The younger Lior twin ventured, her eyes tracing up the iron work that was the banister of the extravagant staircase. Whoever had lived her prior to them had been just as lucky. The home was more than anyone could ever dream of. Imagine the parties they could have; oh yes, there would be parties. The sort that even anyone famous would be flattered to receive an invitation. The Lior girls were far more experience in the ways of manipulating the world around them than anyone would deem possible.
Do we need a tetanus shot?! Pondered the blonde girl as she watched a rat scurry along outside. Marie caught her eye, it was almost a horrified look as she began to speak. Livv held a slender, manicured hand up and shook her head with a smile. She did not feel the need to listen to the elderly woman explain to her why there were rats. They were in the French Quarter of New Orleans and though it was once the most famous place for French-Creole activities, it now wasn't much more than another famous town with famous names everywhere, looking for a way to avoid the heat and annoyances of everyday life. The rat disgusted her yes, there was also the idea of looking for a rodent control personal as soon as she found the time. Looking to her sister she smiled, her eyes telling her to allow the rat incident to pass without another word on it for the moment, hopefully Aly would heed her warning on being quiet this once. Shall we go decide on rooms? She asked her sister, that playful twinkle in her eye that only her twin could possibly grasp. I'VE SEEN MORE SPINE ON A JELLYFISH I've seen more guts in an 11 year old kid. , ----------------------------- As the unfamiliar sight of her new home filled her vision, the sensitive eyes of the young girl were forced to close, the startling cobalt blue disappearing momentarily behind the blinds of her eyelids. The room had jumped out immediately at her, stark detail etched into her memory by the way the sunlight burned on every surface, bathing it in a light that was far from normal to this new york city girl. When she finally opened those bewitching eyes of hers she couldn't help but pause for a moment, the fast paced words of the small maid flying over her head in one conjoined french tinged mumble. At least she could see where the smell came from. As if the room had not been disturbed for a century, the every movement of the new humans brought a cloud of high flying dust to the air. All around her tiny specks drifted aimlessly to the ground, with no direction and no purpose they simply descended slowly, waiting until they would be awoken once more and sent on another montonous journey.
Now Alina Lior had never been a weak girl, in fact the word and her name had never before been uttered in the same sentence. She excelled in everything she did, music, arts, academics, even sports, but this? This was all new. How could she begin to start a new life here, they knew nothing, had no one, and all those years she had insisted she could take care of herself and never needed another, suddenly seemed foolish. If it were not for the ever present sight of her sister as she followed closely through the door at the top of the stairs and set her stuff upon the table, then Alina wasn't sure she would have kept her feet glued to the floor. Strangely though, she wasn't afraid, she was angry. At twenty she had built a life for herself up in New York, she had friends, a job lined up and prospects, real prospects, but all that had gone, shattered like every other dream that had dared to cross between her ears and contain something other than a longing to get drunk and score the hottest guy.
Quick to regain her composure she folled the suit of her slightly younger, evidently blonder sister and placed the box of her life's goods on the old mahogany table, trying to look past the aged coffee circles that littered it's surface. A few months and a few chemical cleans and this place will be fine the optamism surprised her, but as she heard the sound of scuttling paws it quickly wained, changing to horror as she saw a surely mutant rat scurry across the room. Eyes fixed, wide eyed and staring on the rodent she felt a strangled cry reach her throat, there were two things Alina Lior was afraid of in this world, one had eight legs and far too many eyes, and the other was quickly making it's way across of her living room, her living room. Swallowing the scream in her throat, she felt her body tense before she turned quickly to her sister, the tight lip of her mouth conveying her opinion on the whole 'keep it schtum' idea. Make that an exterminator too she thought wickedly before turning, arms crossed and a look of thunder in her eyes, back to the diminutive old maid.
The twinkle of her twin was lost on her, and surely the other girl would sense the tension in her DNA doubles body. It was too obvious to miss and as she turned, stiff backed and powerfully towards the next set of stairs she flashed a murderous look to the small animal on the floor, giving it a wide berth as she marched up the stairs, now suddenly feeling the excitement of being the first to choose the bedroom, fill her. Shout gun the biggest she yelled as her sandal clad feet became a thunderous roar on the stairs as she took them two at a time. At the top of the stairs the corridor branched right and she followed it eagerly, eyes glancing in to each room she passed. When she reached the end of the hall she had counted five bedrooms in all, a perfectly suitable number, and had already selected her own.
Located at the end of the slightly dusty but otherwise, acceptable corridor was a elegantly laid out room. Each she had passed had been of a reasonable size, even large, but this one was obviously the largest and to make it even more perfect for her, it was the only one with a balcony. At the far end of the room as you entered, a billowing flurry of curtains marked the presence of a small alcove. As you pushed past the cloth you were brought onto a small but beautiful balcony, lined with small baskets of flowers fully in bloom. The wrought iron masterpeice was sturdy but delicate to look at, and Alina Lior had already fallen in love with it. Taking a deep sigh she walked backwards into the room, dropped her bag and threw herself, sprawling onto the mattress. At least now maybe, she would crack a smile.

IT'S LIKE A ROLLING THUNDER meets a careless whisper - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Knowledge that her sister was more terrified of the rat than herself, Livv attempted to shuffle her sister away from the room as quickly as possible. Which proved to be simple once she'd been distracted, minutely, with the thrill of picking out her own room. Following slowly behind Aly, Livv glanced back down the stairs towards Marie. Please call an exterminator immediately. Her words were orders, but they were kind. Despite her parents harsh demeanor towards 'slaves' and 'servants' Livv had never been able to be downright cruel or unusual to those paid to help herself or her sister. After all, they put up with quite a bit. A small smirk crossed her lips at the memories of New York, shortly before they'd found their own suite to live in without their parents. Stumbling in through their parents door around three am, their maid at the time, Lola, helping them to their room. When they'd awoken, completely twisted in sheets, hair, and each other, they'd looked up to find aspirin and water sitting on their respective bed side tables. Perhaps that would be the same case with Marie, the ability to trust her with anything. But that was something she'd have to earn, Livv Lior didn't trust anyone easily. Watching Aly bound up the stairs before her and take in each room with quick judgment Livv giggled slightly to herself. She knew it wouldn't take long for her twin to pick a room, leaving the rest for Livv to choose from; even move regularly if she chose to do so. Unlike her sister, Livv adored movement. As if she had been the only child to receive gypsy genes. Every few weeks or so, if she was unable to travel or move, the youngest Lior would rearrange as many rooms surrounding her as possible. Find anything spectacular? She called out, her slender handing twisting one of the delicate doorknobs on the first door; revealing an ancient bedroom, covered in dust. There were books on the table, an old nightstand and mirror ... someone had abandoned this room to be sure. Entering it, her petite feet kicking up dust as she did so, Livv stared at all the history around her, raising a brow in curiosity. What were they missing? The bay windows allowed copious amounts of sunlight in the room during the afternoon it seemed and before Livv exited the room she made a point to open the three windows that resided beside it. Exiting the room she made her way slowly towards the next one, in no hurry to decide on her future haven. Unlike the first room she'd dared explore, the second one was completely empty. The dust covered the light fixtures and hardwood floors, as well as the window sills, even the closet door looked to be nearly invisible due to the amount of fermented dust everywhere. Had no one bothered to clean more than the foyer before they'd shown up? Well, apparantly not. Studio! She cried to her sister, repeating her motions of opening the windows before heading to the next room, two doors down from her sister. It was only a few feet shy of being as large as the room she was sure her sister had chosen. The bay window surpassed that of the first room, large enough to fit a cushion over the lid covering her own secret hiding spot. Smiling at the idea of children playing such a game in the home Livv began walking around opening the windows once more, studying each aspect of the gorgeous room. The closet was covered by two, large, white doors; revealing a walk in closet to rival the one she'd had in New York. Across from the second bedroom called a closet Livv noticed another white door and walked towards it precariously before opening it. Inside was a bathroom decked in porcelain and iron work, a sure sign of the times that this home had been through; and Livv was in love with it, along with the amount of light streaming into the room through the curtained window. This one must open too. She thought mindfully before exiting the bathroom and finding her way towards Aly's room. It's as if the rooms were meant for us. She commented, attempting to hide her nervous vibes of the house from her twin. I'VE SEEN MORE SPINE ON A JELLYFISH I've seen more guts in an 11 year old kid. , ----------------------------- Strangely enough, as she lay sprawled on the unfamiliar mattress, limbs askew and eyes staring directly up at the elaborately decorated ceiling abover her, she felt the tension that had gripped her body and tidied her weary muscles in knots begin to ebb. As her dancing blue eyes followed the intriciate curves of the hanging chandeliar as it flashed and shone in the early morning sun, she felt the apprehension and fear slide from her mind as the firm feeling that she had found some remnant of an actual home, took over. With a slightly sigh, slipping from her lips, taking with it the last of her worries, the petite blonde girl pulled herself to a sitting position and allowed her eyes to scan the room properly for the first time since she'd entered. Alina had always been one for impulse, she had seen the beautiful balcony and size of the room and immediately claimed it as her own, but now as she scanned every inch that was visible to her from her position she found, that though slightly plain, the room was indeed beautiful.
Every piece of furniture that lined the white washed walls were perfectly unique, yet they all fit, all dark mahogany pieces crafted with the finest creole techniques known to man. Just laying there, amongst the wrought iron, age old wood and plaster carvings made her feel as if she'd been transferred back in time, something Alina was not comfortable with. She liked to make sure her head was firmly fixed in the real world, it was the only way she could make sure both her and her sister were ok, not that the younger Lior really needed her sisters protection, she already had an edge on the whole thinking before you act kinda thing.
Hearing the sounds of her sisters muffled feet and her voice dancing towards her through the open doors of the old house, Alina pricked her ears and turned slightly towards the door, knowing already that Livv would be examining each room in great detail and weighing up the cons of size versus light versus wardrobe space. The logical mind of her sister often brought a smile to Alina's face, if you hadn't known the true girl you might have thought Livv unable of having any fun, but having a bordeline split personality was handy in some circumstances. Reaching up she tucked a strand of stray hair behind her ear, there should never be anything out of place on a Lior, that she had been taught since birth, and it was something she stuck by fiercely, keeping the memory of her perfectionist mother alive in every action she took.
Hearing the footsteps near, she pulled her legs towards her, the soft tanned skin of her legs acting as a slight comfort blanket as she tucked them beneath her slender form and waited for the blonder sister to enter. When she did, Alina knew enough to brush past the show of nerves in her sisters eyes, it was best for them to both be strong, pretend the creepy old house would make a perfect home, and pretend they could act happy for the rest of their lives until the pain healed. Fixing a cheery grin onto her face she met her sisters eyes. Find anymore rats?

IT'S LIKE A ROLLING THUNDER meets a careless whisper - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The house was growing on Livv already, though the more intelligent bit of her mind was saying that she needed to clean everything; right down to the grout inbetween the floorboards. There was something they were missing, and the more level-headed of the twins was determined to find it. Entering her sister's room of choice Livv felt herself grow in excitement as she saw it. As long as they'd been alive Aly had always found the room that they could congregate in; where they prepared one another for dates, ate way too much food, stayed up all night doing different sorts of drugs while they talked about everything possible. All these things occurred in Aly's room for one reason, because whenever they'd wanted to get away with something and their parents wanted to discuss it .. Livv's room was perfect for their parents to assume their daughter's were being well behaved. Hearing Aly's words Livv smirked. Not yet, once I do I will be sure to slip it inbetween your sheets. Livv joked, sauntering over to the opened balcony and looking out. Their parents had spared no expense; they could see every inch of the French Quarter from this balcony, as if they were the rulers of a small country. Shaking her head internally at the idea Livv walked back into the bedroom and continued to survey it, seeing how she and Aly could decorate it as she knew they would. What sort of stereo are we putting in this house? The younger Lior questioned, thinking back on the one they'd had in New York; one bedroom solely dedicated to every sort of music they could imagine with chords leading to every speaker they'd hooked up throughout the apartment. I did find an excellent room for my studio. She stated, thinking on the blog she'd had for years, keeping Lior 'fans' up to date on what the two New York based twins were up to now. Not to mention the photography that the sister's modeled for, the photography that Livv did herself; so on and so forth. Out of the girl's, Livv was most certainly the more art oriented one whereas Aly had her own interests. And yet they were always able to combine them with minimal effort. Livv continued to comb the room with her penetrating sea green eyes, her mind whiring with the possibilites this house provided. The reasoning behind her parent's wishes in their will suddenly understanable. Send their girls into a completely unknown world before they acclimated themselves into thinking there wasn't one. Now all she had to do was convince Aly of their way of thinking. I'm thinking .. we finish getting everything into the living room and head out for a bit. Finish unpacking later. The twinkle in her Livv's eye was all too obvious for her twin to read. Marie stood in the doorway, almost spooking Livv at her silence. All she wanted to know was where the 'misses' would like their things placed. Just have them place everything around the mahogany table in the first room please. Livv wasn't sure what it was but she could not bring herself to be cruel towards the woman whose life was to serve her and her sister. Never had she been able ti mistreat a hired hand; not since her sixth birthday when she'd dared throw her entire cake into the center of Lola's stomach, knocking the wind out of her. Not only had she received quite the lashing from her father, but something had haunted Livv about it for weeks; horrible nightmares of fires and screaming. Though she'd never been able to figure out how that connected to hurting her maid. Seeing Marie cower at the sight of her, Livv found herself having that same sinking feeling. Thank you. Erm...Marie would you like us to bring you some food when we come back tonight? Livv ventured, catching her sister's eye. If Aly knew her as well as Livv was sure she did ... she would also remember the nightmares that had once plagued her sister due to cruelty. I'VE SEEN MORE SPINE ON A JELLYFISH I've seen more guts in an 11 year old kid. , -----------------------------With her imagined troubles already slipping away into the humid air that pressed into her, eager for any tidbits her body was willing to feed it, a feeling of lightness passed over her and as she crossed her legs beneath her, the pale slender limbs becoming a perfect pedestal for her to sit upon, she turned indifferent eyes upon her sister, the neautral tone to her face telling more than words could ever to do of the acceptance that was slowly settling over the head and shoulders of the twenty year old girl. Atop her new bed she could see for miles over the decorated streets of the French Quarter and as the sun beat high over head, casting few shadows in the alleys she found that it was actually a rather attractive sight to behold.
Behold our new chamber of indulgence with a grand guesture she referred to the sprawling room that surrounded them, impressive on it's own as it stood empty and forgotten. Scooting easily sideways she made room for the other girl, a face of utter disgust passing over her features as Livv referred to the rats. There would be far too many casualities as a result of Alina's stiletto heels if someone did not save the house from its current infestation, and of course the brunette would not shoulder any of the blame herself. The filthy disease infected rodents deserved everything they got in her opinion, especially if they were to trespass onto her property. It will be guns at dawn if I so much as hear the click of claws on the wooden floors the words were half a mutter but the threat was complete concrete as she watched the blonde version of herself saunter over to the open window and the balcony beyond, no doubt to admire the view that she had, only moments before begun to appreciate herself.
As Livv concerned herself with material conundrums such as the decorating of their newly acquired home, the eldest sister gave a small shrug, eyes sailing around the unfamiliar sights of her room. How long would it take for this to become home? For her to integrate her own things successfully with the ancient decor so that the atmosphere was both pleasing and comfortable? Would it ever happen? Inhaling lightly she turned slightly to her sister, green eyes meeting blue. Whatever you think, the idea did not appeal to her much, electronics were electronics to her, as long as she could hear the music and crank it up to a volume where it began to make her head vibrate around inside her skull then she was pleased with the piece of hardware. Back home their speaker system had been practically death trap worthy, there were hundreds of live wires snaking across their floors, plugging into thousands of pounds worth of equipment powering thousands of volts of electricity. Maybe the old creaking structure they now called home would not cater to such a monstrosity, or maybe the girls couldn't bear to deny the natural charms that needed no makeup.
With a lazy shake of her hand she accepted the statement, knowing that there would be little room for her in such a haven for her sister, Alina preferred the simple things in life, electronics and priceless equipment did not impress nor endear her, where as Livv would love to deck the house out like the inside of a space station, she would prefer to enhance it's charm, filling every inch with period pieces that matched perfectly and turned their world into a glimpse into the past. Oh, she was a hopeless romantic at heart. Though she did have to admit, Livv's plan did sound like a winner and she gave a nod Maybe find somewhere to eat? God knows there must be something that serves something other tha alligator and gumbo her scathing tone was just her annoyance at the unfamiliar.
Leaving her twin to deal with the help, Alina adjusted her tumbled mass of dark curls, running her fingers through the soft veil of hair before turning her attention back to the matters at hand, there was no escape from the tasks that lay before them, and she had always hated to move. Allowing Livv her little show of kindess towards the woman she pulled herself from the silk bedding and sauntered to her side, fixing a polite smile onto her curving mouth when she reached the two others that occupied her room.

IT'S LIKE A ROLLING THUNDER meets a careless whisper - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was interesting to watch people's reactions towards the Lior sister's, the way their personalities complimented and insulted each other all in one. And yet Livv was never bothered by such things. She and her sister were two halves of a whole, one without the other simply could not function properly. Livv was not quite as party oriented as her sister and Aly would surely be in prison at this point were it not for Livv; the twins version of Jiminy Cricket. As Marie nodded at her two new employers she quickly scurried from the room and made her way down the long staircase; leaving Livv to catch Aly's eye. I'll make you a deal. Stop scaring the new help and I'll make sure the rats are taken care of. An offer the elder of the two simply could not pass up with her hatred towards the creatures. Glancing around the room once more, taking in any more ideas that her mind might quickly create, Livv turned on her heel and exited the room, heading down the hall towards the stairs. The musty smell in the home already dissipating thanks to the opened windows in each room. As her heels clicked against the hardwood floors, dust flaring up once more as she walked, Livv wondered what her parents had thought of doing to the home the first time they'd entered it. The thought caused her to bite down gently on her lip, shoving away any memory of her parents. Thinking of them only caused tears to well up in her eyes; something she was not about to deal with her first night in New Orleans. You pick the place. Livv called back up the stairs whilst she descended them, texting Danny as she did so; the only being in all of New Orleans that she was familiar with. He'd been a close friend for quite a few years now, ever since they'd partied and such in New York; much like Aly's friendship with Adamm. Let's make sure you choose soon though or we'll starve to death. She teased her sister as the elder girl walked down the stairs gracefully. One thing the Lior twins had down effortlessly. Marie had long since exited the home, leaving several containers of cleaner here and there, rags in their buckets, a mop, broom and dustpan propped against the downstairs closet door; everything signifying she would be back shortly. Livv was not particularly worried; she and Aly were going to need something to do throughout their first few weeks here aside from partying with an entirely new crowd; Cleaning did necessarily appeal to them though they weren't too snobby as to believe it was beneath them. Had that been the case their parents would have forced an entirely cleaning service on them in New York rather than the every few weeks maid that showed up while they were away. It didn't take her long to make a few mental notes about where she would want a few different pieces of furniture that their parents had left; specifically for this mansion it seemed. The boxes she and Aly had already brought in contained pictures and different wall decorations that could be placed on the mantels and walls, causing the home to look more ... warm than it did at the moment; happier than a large empty space that seemed a bit more disturbed than Livv was realizing. It would be quite enjoyable once the silence was cut out by whatever system they chose to put in. It wasn't so much the material items Livv enjoyed, it was the void that they filled; similar to the reason why people became inebriated. Entering the kitchen Livv tilted her head to the side and blinked for a moment; her entire body freezing at what she saw. Aly! Come here now please! Staring at the fireplace Livv felt her entire body freeze over, what on earth was this about? Some sort of joke? Surely no one in her world was cruel enough to ever do such a thing. Dashing over to the large, stone stove Livv brought her fingertips to her lips as she knelt down before the man that was chained to the stone. ALY! Please!! She cried, unable to get any other sentence out. The man was emaciated, scarred, and burned badly. What on earth had happened to him? Reaching out to touch his hand in a reassuring gesture, Livv began to shake, her heart racing. And just as quickly as this man had appeared before her ... he was gone, just like that. Not even the slightest trace of someone having been chained there seconds before. Bringing her hand back to her chest Livv began to breathe steadily, her mind turning with questions and shock as she sat herself up the marbled over stone that was their large fireplace and stove. Looking up at Aly her eyes were wide and held horror mixed with shock. I have no idea what that was. She murmered, her delicated hand placing itself against her neck as she considered what that could have been. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - POST STATUS: complete TEMPLAT CREDIT: romantaholic GRAPHIC CREDIT: romantaholic LYRICS CREDIT: evan taubenfeld COSTARRING: alina lior TAKING PLACE: lalaurie mansion/june 2009 WORD COUNT: eight hundred and ninety five

` hey, don't apologiseI H O P E Y O U C H O K E A N D D I E
I'VE SEEN MORE SPINE ON A JELLYFISH I've seen more guts in an 11 year old kid. , -----------------------------A look that was never far from her face quickly passed over the perfect features of the brunnette as she stood before her sister in soft morning light coming from the balcony of her newly acquired room, the look of incredulous innocence was perfectly executed and to all intensive purposes, looked completely genuine. It was the tool at which Alina had gotten through her entire years at school, by making the teachers believe the impossible; that Alina Lior was in truth a polite, nice, shy and retiring girl who would much rather read a good book than cause a full scare argument that resulted in an entire riot of the schools girls. Thinking back, that had been an extremely good day, and she had gotten the girl she hated beyond anyone a brand new balck eye to wear to the schools spring fling dance. Success. Now however, as she fixed the look on her sister she let her eyes roll heavenwards, the startling blue tumbling through her head before she fixed them once more on her twin. Me? Scare the help? How ridiculous the tone in her voice matched perfectly, with nothing hinting at sarcasm or amusement creeping into the edges I could not be further from intimidating with her head held aloft in a very snobbish way she walked towards the doorway, her posture completely straight and perfect in every sense of the word as a elegance that could not be simply natural fell over her completely.
Sliding past the dominating figure of her blonde counterpart, she let out a soft But if I find one whisker in my room then the whip is being brung straight out the sentence was of course far from the truth, she wouldn't even dream of hurting one of their help, after all wasn't a spoilt little rich girl always taught not to piss of the servants? Especially the ones that served you food every night, yet the tone in her voice was as concrete and believable as her previous masquerade. Not for the first time in her life, with a amused smile dancing across her lips, Alina complimented herself on her skill, I should have been an actress, though of course the girl had little love of taking orders from anyone, even directors.
Sauntering down the narrow corridor, with a flare to her hips that most women reserved for the moment they stepped outside their front door and into the world, Alina ignored the small clouds of dust that rose up from the floor boards like greepy hands reaching for the bare pale skin that passed above them, forever superior and out of its reach. As words dirfted towards her she grabbed them from the air, plucking their meaning easily and processing her reaction, of course there was no outright answer she could give, New Orleans remained an unexplored mystery to both girls and to suggest somewhere to eat would be like guessing the name of a guy in a bar. Let's just see what we find even as she spoke she felt a rumble deep inside her toned stomach as a craving over took her, but for what, she wasn't quite sure. Agreed she voiced, sensing her sisters hunger matched her own.
Crossing the spacious living area she sensed Livv's mental shopping list take shape inside her mind as she examined the room laid out before her, where the brunnette ignored all the bits and pieces the maid had left behind, the blonde ticked them off in her head in a way that showed she would be the most responsible of the two when it came to this living arrangement. A real house meant real chores. Reaching a mirror she ran a hand through her jaunty curls, fluffing the volume until they fell satsifactorily around her shoulders. What she hadn't expected was her own name shouted at her from towards the back of the property, and though she sensed a hint of urgency in the voice she hesitated for a moment, admiring herself, it was probably just another rat after all.
Coming she called finally and with a flourish of limbs she twirled, and headed in the direction of the voice, mentally taking note that this corridor lead down to the kitchen. As she lazily closed the distance between them she heard another yell, Hold on there was a whine to her voice that conveyed the annoyance at being hurried anywhere, but as she rounded the corner that announced the large kitchen the look on her sisters face was enough to shock her into silence, the annoyance slipping from her face as she looked into the terrorfilled eyes of her twin.

IT'S LIKE A ROLLING THUNDER meets a careless whisper - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - He had been there. Livv was sure of it. She'd seen that poor, destroyed man as plainly as she could see the tile beneath her delicate feet. There was no way she had conjured such a horrific image from her own mind; there wasn't anything in her mind that ... terrifying to begin with. Wrapping her arms around herself for a moment Livv's terrified, sea green eyes were darting around the entire kitchen, attempting to find anything that would prove to herself that it had been real. But the kitchen was brand new in every sense of the words. There was nothing in there that could hint someone being chained to a stone fireplace after being burned and tortured as that man had appeared. As her eyes finally made their way towards the doorway Aly's voice cut through the fog of what she'd seen. Noticing her sister's expression immediately soften Livv knew that what she had seen had affected her much more than her body was admitting to itself. Oh my God Aly ... He was ... and he looked ... and then it was just gone! Her words were quick and flustered, considering she was barely able to get them out of her mouth without breaking into some sort of choked sob. There was no doubting the Lior girls' had grown up in New York, utterly used to muggings and other different sorts of crimes. They were part of everyday. But never had either of them experienced true horror to the extent that Livv had just witenssed. The look in the man's eyes ... she couldn't bring it back into her mind, the sight made her want to gag. But there was nothing in her stomach to help with such a feet. Seeing her sister enter the kitchen now Livv stood and rushed to her, taking her hands in hers with the most imploring expression she'd ever had. Some man was chained to that fireplace, tortured, dying ... Aly I swear to God I'm not making this up. Someone was there! Never before had she been so desperate for her three minute older sister to understand what she was trying to say. And never before had she tried so hard to convince herself that she wasn't insane. What had just happened? Placing her hand on her heart and glancing back at the fireplace Livv felt her stomach rumble once more, but no longer from hunger but from fear. What had happened in this house? Did she truly want to know? These were questions that were surely destined to follow her wherever she went until the truth was out. Biting down on her soft, very pink lip, Livv buried her head against Aly's shoulder, taking several deep sighs; the Lior girls' way of crying unless it was absolutely necessary. I've never seen anything like it ... so horrific ... but it was real. I went to touch him ... and he was gone! Pulling away from her sister slowly Livv walked towards the fireplace once more, placing her hand on the stone and marble that held it together. Her body was trembling while her mind ran over the sight several more times, attempting to come to grips with the way he'd simply disappeared. And then the counserlor that had been in charge of speaking to the twins after their parents death popped into her head; reminding her of the affects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, what it could do to once psych. But in the depths of Livv's mind and soul she did not believe that this was the case with what she'd just seen; there was no way that was a figment from her imagination stemming from the tragic loss of her loving parents. It would make sense, but Livv would believe it had it not been so ... tragic and wrong in every way possible. Though their parents deaths had hit them both harder than expected, Livv did not see either of them having mental breakdowns at age twenty due to such a thing; their parents had gone to too much trouble to make sure that they wouldn't have to deal with such things. Looking back to Aly, the younger Lior bit down on her lip once more, raking her slender, pale fingers through her amazingly blonde hair; wondering what on earth had just happened to her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - POST STATUS: complete TEMPLAT CREDIT: romantaholic GRAPHIC CREDIT: romantaholic LYRICS CREDIT: evan taubenfeld COSTARRING: alina lior TAKING PLACE: lalaurie mansion/june 2009 WORD COUNT: seven hundred and fifty one
