A small restaurant that gives visitors a glimpse into the remote seaside resort of the Grand Isle, that many will never see. Serving a mix of Cajun, Creole and Louisiana Seafood it's a popular haunt.

Dubbed as Frenchmen Street's best-kept secret, the cozy Apple Barrel Bar offers live jazz or blues every night of the week. The bar's acoustics are so good that some local artists have actually recorded here.

Unlike many other cities in the South, New Orleans isn’t uptight about letting adults seek out their favorite pleasures. If you enjoy the excitement of gambling, the real deal is at Harrah’s Casino at the foot of Canal St. With a luxurious hotel, good entertainment options and several fabulous restaurants you may find it difficult to get away.

Audubon Park opened in 1898 and was the site of the World Cotton Centennial in 1884. People travel from near and far to marvel at and enjoy the ever-beautiful oak trees, lagoons, and expansive green space located within the park. Inside there is a golf course and a zoo.

One of the Downtown areas many nightclubs, the ampersand is always packed with writhing bodies. Music straight out of the 21st century it all that graces the stereos here, an escape from all the blues and jazz in the city.

A large white building built from an old abandoned plantation house, River Oaks is the place that you will need to go if you have any bumps or scrapes.

A small but highly popular bar located in downtown New Orleans. Food is served but it's not very highly quality, it is best to stick to the extensive array of alcohol on offer in this place.

Located down town, this world reknowned shop caters for every need concerning your precious body. Soaps, makeup, hair products, it can all be found inside this deceivingly quaint little shop.

The Adrienne Vittadini collections appeal to a lifestyle and take a woman from home to the office to leisure time and are shaped by a casually sophisticated approach to style, perfect for the mood of the moment. The Vittadini stores will offer the customer “The World of Vittadini” where apparel, footwear, legwear, handbags, eyewear, jewelry, fragrance, watches, belts, scarves, gloves and hats will be available.

From breakfast to a midnight snack, Sucré is available to satisfy your sweet tooth. Sucré is an emporium of "artisan" sweets. Unlike a traditional bakery, Sucré serves plated desserts with custom garnishes in addition to boxed treats. It also serves fantastic coffee.

Live music every night plus a three-for-one Happy Hour from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., as well as karaoke and a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street.

This fun restaurant combines quality seafood in a casual family atmosphere, just the way Forrests' best good friend, Bubba, would have done it.

This community theatre, Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, had its inception back in 1916, when a group of amateur theatre-lovers began putting on plays in the drawing room of one of the members. All of the finer points of El Matador and The Shim Sham Club rolled into one hip venue. The club offers live jazz, funk, and rock as well as sexy burlesque shows that can't be found anywhere else.

A trendy new nightclub that was put in place beside the sleepy little blues houses to cater for the more youthful residents who like to feel music that makes your heart skip along.

A little gem of the French Quarter, the little bookshop is frequented mostly by those interested in their heritage and it boasts an enormous selection on the history of New Orleans.

The Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street is famous for its European flair and southern charm. 500-guest rooms offer views of a beautifully landscaped pool, tropical courtyard, or vibrant French Quarter

Beside the fast flowing river there is some sturdy pieces of land perfect for lounging around on or even taking a picnic, but there are many hazards along the river.
